Individuals - Workplace Giving
Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Workplace Payroll Giving programs allow employees the opportunity to make a significant and lasting impact on the work of their preferred not-for-profit organisations through a direct tax deductible donation from their pre-tax pay.
This system of giving provides a wide range of benefits to the employer, employees and the recipient not-for-profit organisations.
Charities Aid Foundation can assist Employers in the implementation and development of Payroll Giving in the workplace and maintain all back-office administration to minimise costs and to provide monthly grants to charities.
All programs must be endorsed by the Employer. A good starting point is Human Resourecs, Payroll and those people managing your organisations community programs. Employee Benefits
- Complete donor preference - nominate any Charity (DGR) in Australia
- Pre-tax benefit - immediate tax benefit at the time the donation is made
- Simple way to give - direct from pay
- Flexibility to start, change, stop at any time
- Cost effective method of giving
- Feels good - supporting your community
A company has 5000 employees. 8% of employees each donate an average $15 from their fortnightly pay. Collectively, that's $12,000 per month and $144,000 over a year… and that's before any matching from the employer. Workplace Payroll Giving Achievements
Charities Aid Foundation has an impressive local and international record in bringing the corporate and community sectors together for mutual benefit. Over the past 7 years (to June 08) CAF Australia has facilitated grants of almost AU$26 million through generous workplace giving donations.
We are working with more than 300 employers including; Macquarie Bank, Freehills, Qantas, Foster’s Group, Virgin, Kraft Foods, Vodafone, Dimension Data, Pfizer, Holden, Sun Microsystems, BP, Bloomberg, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, McDonald's, Unilever, Bendigo Bank, Commonwealth Treasury, Sydney Water, Railcorp, Rural Fire Service, Gold Coast City Council, Victorian Dept of Premier and Cabinet and many more.
More than 900 not-for-profit (DGR) organisations are currently recipients of the program (Jan 09). Funds are granted based on donor preference, which means that when an employee nominates a charity, validation checks are carried out and then funds are distributed monthly by CAF.
